If I buy the dresses, shoes and accessories of the bridal party should I still buy them a gift?

I bought the dresses for the bridal party. I am also buying their shoes, and accessories. Should I still buy them gifts?

If I buy the dresses, shoes and accessories of the bridal party should I still buy them a gift?
I would think the dress was the gift. I understand that it varies with the custom of the area you live in, but in this area, the bridesmaids buy the whole outfit.

How nice of you to buy the most expensive item!

You should remember to thank them for being a bridesmaid, and if you like, you could give them a token present, like a framed picture of the bride and groom. But it is not necessary! And I for one, would not be expecting anything else, after you bought me a dress! And the flowers I was going to carry, and a free meal and entertainment at the wedding, and a free meal at the rehearsal dinner...

Reply:No, you should not have to. I%26#039;m a brides maid in a wedding this coming Saturday and i had to buy my own dress, shoes and accessories. You are paying for the most expensive items, that is your gift to them. I would have rather had my dress paid for than receive a gift.
Reply:While you have been more than generous, a gift is customary, but just make it a token of some sort. Pretty bookmarks, small picture frame, embossed stationery, etc. Considering your generosity , they should be more than grateful for a small gift.
Reply:i agree with violet.

this is one of the reasons i didn%26#039;t do the bride%26#039;s maid thing at my wedding.
Reply:I would think that the bride and groom would appreciate all that you have done and not expect anything else.
Reply:give them $20 gift cards.
Reply:Yes, you still buy them a gift. It does not have to be much, but it is customary to do so. You are a wonderful bride to pay for all of their dresses and such. Congrats to you.
Reply:If you like to. Why not?? Financial problems?!! well, if you care about what the people will say, buy a gift. But if not, then don%26#039;t! you paid for the dresses anyway...
Reply:WHO ARE U? are u the bride or groom?! why would u buy everyones dresses?! no...don%26#039;t buy them gifts! they don%26#039;t deserve any! They%26#039;ve done nothing!
Reply:If it is something you will feel uncomfortable about for not doing then definitely do it. If you%26#039;ve already bought everything for the entire bridal party then spending a little more probably won%26#039;t make that much of a difference.
Reply:If for whatever reason, you%26#039;re in a position in which you have a lot more money than they do, then it would be nice to get them a small gift just because. Not that you%26#039;d HAVE to, though.

If you%26#039;re all on a tight budget, I%26#039;m sure they%26#039;ll appreciate you having paid for these things for them and would never expect anything!
