Where to get wholesale clothing, accessories, shoes, jewelry for a retail store?

I want to open a retail store


how do i go about getting the best products for the best wholesale price? I want to be able to cut out the middle man...i know there are companies who sell things wholesale but is there a way to buy direct from the brand? I appreciate any answers.

Reply:I'd suggest you try something original ... maybe your own design? Somewhere like LoveBites and Bruises for jewelry %26amp; accs - they're a large community of jewelry makers, that are quite popular on the internet, especially among "Scene" and "emo" kids who want to design and sell their own jewelry. They do wholesale and supply companies such as Hot Topic and media channels such as E4 (in the UK) - they recently suppled a show called 'Nearly Famous', though they supply even everyday people such as yourself who are looking to start a business %26amp; they deliver worldwide.





I'd also reccomend them because they are VERY cheap - you'll find a lot of people reselling their L%26amp;B creations on ebay %26amp; etsy.

For clothing %26amp; shoes, I'd reccomend trying chinese wholesalers (for smaller sizes) and look for US based wholesalers for larger - a simple google search of "wholesalers china" will come up with thousands of results. http://www.chinesewholesaler.com is a start ... but there are many more like this.





Finally, ask other independant stores who their wholesale retailers are, some are happy to share delivery slots to save delivery costs, others may not be so keen (as they'll see you as competition).





Some other tips - try to get original products that won't be found in every other store - give people a REASON to visit your store. Wholesalers online from China are cheap - but bear in mind shipping %26amp; taxing costs first.

Reply:Sorry to say but, you will not be able to buy directly from the manufacturer, what you need to do is find the wholesale suppliers who sources there products directly from the manufacturer. I would contact as many wholesalers and compare minimum order size, shipping cost and prices.
